Dolpo Rara lake Trek

This trekking route lies towards western part of the country and is protected by the Rara National Park, smallest national park of Nepal, covering and area of 106 sq kms.
Rara is a good destination point for trekking in the west. The trail is very much "off the beaten path" and offers glimpses of culture and scenery very different from those in the rest of the country. The centre-point of the park is lake Rara, the biggest lake of Nepal. After waking along a long mountain path and with a series of picturesque villages, you reach the magnificent bank of Rara lake. The park includes Trans- Himalayan valley with high ridges covered with forest and alpine pastures. Mixing up with the local people with their distinct culture and tradition gives visitors a unique experience that adds up to make a wonderful holiday. The lifestyle of the people there gives trekkers a chance to reflect on his/her own modern society and development visa-vis the primitive society there.
The great high mountain scenery enchants and fascinates as always. Like most parts of Nepal, Rara National Park is a naturalist's dreamland. Animals like the gaur, serow, musk deer, yellow-throated martin and a wide variety of birds such as the Implying pheasant, Kalij and dove are can be frequently seen.
