There are three major groups of peaks between Kathmandu and Pokhara; Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Manaslu and Himal Chuli and the large Annapurna Himal. This trek is recommended by many trekkers though it is less trekked than Annapurna and Everest area. It is famous for Tamang Culture, spectral views of mountains, rhododendron forests and a convenient distance from Kathmandu.
Ganesh Himal Trekking route has terraced hillsides that seem to climb to the sky. It lies to the north-west of Kathmandu and is inhabited by many interesting ethnic groups with a mixed lifestyle. It offers you a glimpse of real Nepali life and provides visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese culture from a close proximity. The intermingling with locals gives a sense of satisfaction. In addition this area is also rich in flora and fauna with 526 species of plants (including 40 species of orchids) and 300 species of birds. You are likely to encounter animals like Himalayan Thar, Gaur, many kinds of Monkeys, and musk Deers, among others.
