Lower Dolpo Trek

Lower Dolpo trek is an isolated corner of trans Himalayan zone of Nepal is another popular trekking in Dolpo region. The trekking to lower Dolpo is to explore the hidden wilderness, the Buddhist monasteries, mysterious caves, incredible landscapes, a popular mountain lake, Shey Phoksundo, which is located inside the Shey Phoksundo national park in the mid western Nepal behind the Dhaulagiri massif. Similarly, you will have an opportunity to explore the Himalayan pilgrimage site Shey Gompa and also visit to the ancient charming settlement, high mountain passes, beautiful Lakes, isolated Buddhist monasteries, steamy forest full of flora and fauna including Blue sheep, mountain goat, jackal, wolf and snow leopard and many more. Lower Dolpo is an isolated valley and regarded to be a restricted area for trekking. Therefore, if you are wishing to visit to the lower Dolpo you need to obtain the permission.

Lower Dolpo trekking begins with the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, subsequently to Jumla and then the trip continues to Naphukana, Chaurikot, along the Bheri Riverside, Garpung Khola, Kagmara, you happen to cross the Kagmara La (5,115 m) pass and make excursion to the Shey Phoksundo Lake and Shey Phoksundo National Park and then the trekking descends down to Baga La Phedi, Lahini, Tarakot and finally return back to Dunai and Juphal and then fly back to Nepalgunj or Pokhara or direct flight to Kahtmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu –Nepalgunj (fly) or by drive.
Day 03: Nepalgunj – Juphal( Dolpa) by fly, 3 hours trek to Dunai
Day 04: Dunai – Hanke check post.
Day 05: Hanke – Reji
Day 06: Reji – Ringmo ( shey – Phoksundo Lake)
Day 07: Shey phoksundo Lake Rest
Day 08: Shey – Phoksundo Lake – Baga La Base Camp
Day 09: Baga La Base Camp – Numla Base Camp
Day 10: Numla Base Camp – Kakar Gompa
Day 11: Kakar Gompa – Dho – Tarap
Day 12: Dho – Tarap Rest
Day 13: Dho Tarap – Big – Cave
Day 14: Big – Cave – Lahini
Day 15: Lahini – Tarakot
Day 16: Tarakot – Heute Ghar
Day 17: Heuta Ghar – Dunai
Day 18: Dunai – Juphal
Day 19: Juphal – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu fly back
Day 20: Final departure, transfer to airport

Nepal entry visa: you can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. (A multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos.)
