Gokyo Renjo la pass Trek - 16 Nights/ 17 Days
Gokyo Trek to renjo la pass is newly open high pass trekking in Khumbu region. People from Tibet walk all the way down to Namche to sell their home made stuffs and salt to trade. The most wonderful experience would be to explore this area during the end of monsoon season when flowers pop out in Nangpala, giving the trekkers the illusion that they are walking on textured carpet.
The strong fragrances of flowers refresh the mind and feel heavenly to camp there and have a very sweet sleep at night. The caravan-style business, its remoteness, the biggest glaciers in the whole of the Khumbu region and spectacular views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Cho Oyu are the spectacular features in this trek. The newly opened Renjo Pass crossing from Gokyo to Nangpala is a breathtakingly beautiful walk with mountains surrounding us.
The Gokyo Trek to renjo la pass offers an alternative to the traditional Everest base camp trek. From Goyko RI, more of Everest itself is visible than from Kala Pattar above Gorak Shep. The mountains are more spectacular, the Ngozumpa Glacier is the largest in the Nepal Himalaya and, from a ridge above Goyko, and four 8000-meter peaks (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu) are visible. The view of the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang (7922m) is one of the most dramatic panoramas in Khumbu. This trek is little less crowded then the base camp trek.
This 17-day Gokyo trek to Renjo la pass brings you to the Gokyo Lake Valley up the Dudh Kosi River from the Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Khumjung. It is less touristy area than the traditional route to Kalapathar and EBC. The day - hike to the Gokyo Ri - 5360m. During trek you to look down on the vast Ngozumpa Glacier and have the great panorama views of four of the world's ten highest peaks Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu.
